			NSWCA Board of Directors Spring 2008 Meeting Minutes March 2, 2008 1:30 PM Schuyler, Nebraska The meeting was called to order by President Dale Bong of Boone Central. Board members present: Craig Mauler of Sargent,Mike Schadwinkel of Grand Island, Dan Davenport of Waverly, Kenny Loosvelt of Madison, Tyler Herman of Amherst, and Nathan Glause of Palmer. Members absent: Doug Denson of Millard South, Todd Porter of Bellevue East, Derek Hammerlun of Cozad, Matt Coufal of Malcolm, and Jeff Bargen of Columbus Lakeview. Also present Craig Hellwege. Motion by Loosvelt and second by Glause carried to approve the minutes of the Fall Meeting. Treasurer’s report: Checking balance is at $3711.92 and Savings is at $13,000.12. Old Business: It was noted the division of teams for the All Star Classic would put all Omaha Metro schools on the East Team and the rest of the Class A schools would be West Team with the remaining division to be District 1 and 2 would be East and District 2 and 4 would be West. Motion by Schadwinkel and second by Glause carried. Dues at $30 has been effect since the Fall Meeting. New Business: Craig Hellwege presented his State Dual Proposal to the board. Motion by Davenport and second by Glause carried to support the proposal. Motion by Schadwinkel and second by Loosvelt carried that if a coach of the teams the NSWCA is funding is not a member their dues shall be deducted from the payment requested. Motion by Glause and second by Schadwinkel carried to pay $400 to the Disney Duals . Motion by Glause and second by Schadwinkel carried to pay $200 for the Senior Nationals. Motion by Loosvelt and second by Herman to pay $400 to the coaches for the Maine Exchange this year and revisit the request each year carried. Official to be contacted for the All Star Classic are Todd Parr of Gibbon and Kevin Nordhues of Bartlett. Should one of the two be unable to accept contact will be made with Steve Falset of Gibbon. Hall of Fame selection began with the announcement that ballots will go to members only in a few weeks for the Vern Ekfelt Coach of the Year in each of the four classes. Candidates were selected at the district meetings. Guy Mytty Outstanding Wrestler by secret ballot were: Class A Warner Phipps of Kearney, Class B Tyler Sackett of Omaha Skutt, Class C Zachery Adams of Norfolk Catholic, and Class D Carson Hemmann of Amherst. Motion by Schadwinkel and second by Glause carried to award $200 scholarship to each of the following: Class A Jason Brisbin of Grand island, Class C Jamison Jenson of Wisner Pilger and Shawn Nelson of Bennington, and Class D Jason Klingelhoeffer of Amherst. Motion by Loosevelt and second by Davenport to name Tom Spale of Schuyler Assistant Coach of the Year carried. Todd Parr of Gibbon was named Official of the Year. By secret ballot Susanne Bates of Wilber was chosen Coach’s Wife Patron is Les Aquilar of Grand Island. Family is David and Virginia Klingelhoefer of Amherst. Media nominations from the floor: Joe Flanagan of Albion News, Donnie Seifried of Sargent, Gene McCoy of KINV, Ross Halford, Doug Duda of Power 99 Steve Zerr of Fort Kearney Post and Zavela of Columbus Telegram. Hall of Fame Inductees needed 4 out of the 6 votes from board members by secret ballot. Competitors selected were: Paul Havel of Wilber Claytonia/UNL, Bob McCaw of Bellevue/Kearney State, M.J.Lyon of Rushville, and Donny Seifried of Sargent. In the category of coach Mike Herman of Clarks and Greeley Public was selected. Rod Sones of Rushville, Gordon was chosen as a contributor. Meeting adjourned.
